NEW LITERATURES IN ENGLISH

Four Year under Graduate Program (NEP-2020) has been introduced in all colleges of Chhattisgarh w.e.f. 2024-25. New Literatures in English is prescribed in the curriculum of B.A. Semester-III, as Discipline Specific Elective (DSE-01). Literatures produced under the category of 'Commonwealth Literature', 'Third World Literature' and 'Afro-American Literature' is included under the umbrella of 'New Literatures in English'. Today, the field is often referred to and studied under the broader, more academic umbrella of Postcolonial Literature. The book, "New Literatures in English" (A Study Guide for Students) is designed to provide basic information about the key characteristics and themes of 'New Literatures in English'. It also contains the texts of the representative authors prescribed in the curriculum with detailed notes and study questions to help the students in their exam.
