Dr. Modang Rita Taru

Dr. Modang Rita Taru is a native of Ziro. She earned a PhD with her research titled "Folk Narratives of the Apatanis," under the mentorship of Lt. Prof. Tamo Mibang, the former Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), a leading central university in the state. With a strong passion for oral traditions and indigenous culture, she aims to preserve Apatani narratives through documentation. The stories featured in this book are the outcome of her research, blending academic insight with cultural dedication. She has always been passionate about creative writing; this book is her first published work-an intentional effort to preserve, share, and celebrate the storytelling heritage of the Apatani community. With this work, she hopes readers will appreciate these narratives and support her ongoing literary and academic pursuits.
