Dr. Hari Krishna Behera is an accomplished academic, researcher, and media professional specializing in Journalism and Mass Communication, with particular interests in media studies, gender representation in cinema, communication theory, and digital media culture. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Media Studies (IMS), Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, where he is actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic mentorship.

Dr. Behera holds his Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Berhampur University and is a UGC NET–SRF awardee, reflecting his strong academic foundation and research credentials. His doctoral research focused on the changing trends in Indian cinema, with special emphasis on representation, culture, and society. Over the years, he has developed a strong research profile with extensive publications in national and international journals of repute, along with several edited and authored books addressing contemporary issues in media, cinema, and communication.

He has presented research papers at numerous national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops, contributing meaningfully to scholarly discourse. Dr. Behera has also served in academic and editorial capacities, including as a guest editor for international journals and reviewer for research publications. Earlier, he was associated with the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal, where he contributed to journalism education and professional training.
