Prasanth E. S. is an Associate Professor in Mental Health Nursing at Indira Gandhi Memorial College of Nursing, Perumbavoor. He completed his Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing (Mental Health Nursing) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, and is currently pursuing his PhD at Malwanchal University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, an institution recognized for its focus on advanced research and healthcare education. He began his professional career as a Staff Nurse at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Belgaum, a constituent college of KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research. During this period, he gained rich clinical experience in Medical Intensive Care Unit and Oncology Intensive Care Unit, managing critically ill patients and working closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. He later joined MVJ Medical College & Research Hospital, Bengaluru, where he worked in Central ICU, Emergency Department, medical and surgical wards, and the Psychiatry Ward. He also held supervisory and administrative responsibilities and served as Ward In-Charge of the Psychiatry Ward, contributing to comprehensive mental health services. After completing his postgraduate studies, he entered nursing education as a Lecturer and later Assistant Professor at Aswini College of Nursing, Thrissur. He taught undergraduate and postgraduate students and guided research projects and dissertations. Currently, as Associate Professor, he continues to mentor students and promote academic excellence. With over 15 years of experience, Prasanth E. S. has authored nursing textbooks, including a widely used Textbook of Psychiatric Nursing, and published research in national and international journals, reflecting his commitment to psychiatric nursing education and evidence-based practice.
