Dr. Bidyanand Choudhary

Dr. Bidyanand Choudhary, a resident of Bundu Block in Ranchi district of Jharkhand State, is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Jagannath Nagar College, Dhurwa (Ranchi). He was born on 31 December 1980. Dr. Choudhary completed his matriculation from St. Xavier’s High School, Bundu, and obtained his Intermediate and Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi, securing First Division. He was awarded a Gold Medal in M.A. (Economics) from the Postgraduate Department of Economics, Ranchi University. In addition, he has earned degrees of M.Phil. (Social Sciences), Ph.D., B.Ed., M.A. (Rural Development), M.A. (Sociology), and PGDESD. He has also qualified UGC-NET, UGC-NET-JRF, and JET (Economics). His research work has primarily focused on rural infrastructure, agricultural development, sustainable development, tribal studies, and regional disparities in Jharkhand. Dr. Choudhary has more than 15 years of teaching experience. He has taught at Singhbhum College, Chandil, and Jagannath Nagar College, Dhurwa (Ranchi). Additionally, he was selected in the Jharkhand Administrative Service (JAS) and has also served as a Deputy Collector. So far, more than nine of his books have been published, including works on the Economy of Jharkhand, Geography of Jharkhand, Jharkhand on the Path of Development, Indian Economy, Rural Infrastructure and Agricultural Development, National Cadet Corps, and books related to competitive examinations. In 2022, he was honored by the Reserve Bank of India with the Best Book Writing Award for his book on the Economy of Jharkhand. More than 14 of his research papers have been published in national and international journals, and several research articles have appeared in edited volumes. Dr. Choudhary has presented research papers at numerous national and international seminars and conferences. Through teaching, research, and writing, Dr. Bidyanand Choudhary continues to guide students and research scholars in the field of economics.
