Dr. Abhishek Majhi is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Ramananda Centenary College, affiliated with Sidho Kanho Birsha University, Purulia, West Bengal. His career spans over a decade of diverse professional experience, including roles in the Fisheries Department, Government of West Bengal, where he served as a Fishery Extension Officer for two years, and in the Agriculture Department for eight years as a Block Technology Manager. Dr. Majhi holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Sidho Kanho Birsha University, Purulia. He also possesses a strong interdisciplinary academic background, having completed his Master of Fishery Sciences (M.F.Sc.) in Fishery Economics from the West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata in 2014, and an MBA from Vidyasagar University, Midnapore in 2016. Additionally, he earned a Master of Arts in Rural Development from IGNOU and a Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Extension Management (PGDAEM) from the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. A life member of several reputed scientific and professional bodies, Dr. Majhi’s research interests encompass a broad range of fields including Economics, Fishery Sciences, Fishery Economics, Agricultural Economics, Rural and Tribal Development, Agricultural Extension, and Human Resource Development. He has contributed extensively to academic literature, with numerous articles published in peer-reviewed national and international journals. Dr. Majhi has been recognized with awards and honors by various prestigious organizations and academic platforms for his contributions to research and development in his areas of expertise.
