Darshan Singh is a lecturer in Mathematics at Senior Secondary Model School, Punjabi University, Patiala. He has been teaching in this institute since 1994 and has a rich experience in Applied Geometry, Square roots, Cube roots and Algebric Geometry. He has done his M.SC. Mathematics from Punjabi University, Patiala and M. SC. Statistics from Himachal Pardesh University, Shimla. Besides, he has done B. Ed from Punjab University, Chandigarh and PGDCA from Punjabi University, Patiala. Other than his official work, Darshan Singh is passionate about the subject and has derived alternative proofs of Pythagoras theorem, Law of Cosines, Law of Sines, Areas of different Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Trapezium and Circle, Circumference of Circle, Volume and Surface Area of Pyramid, Tetrahedron, Dodecahedron, Cube and Cuboid. He has also derived different methods to find the roots of Polynomial equations namely Bi quadratic, Cubic and Quadratic. Besides, he has derived methods to find cube roots and square roots. Recently he derived a method to find three unknown variables x, y, z of three linear equations. The author has shared his results with the American Mathematical Society and has received regular inputs from it through correspondence. He plans to write books for 10th and 12th standard and for BCA Part-1. In his spare time, Darshan Singh likes to create innovative electronic circuits and play on his violin.
